Chalice of Gold

This gorgeous water lily contained very detailed golden stamens and pollen.  It's beauty was instantly evident to me.
I'll put a black and white version in the first comment.  I'd like to know which you like best.

At first, I was dismayed that the front petals were oof.  But, then I realized that they actually drew my eyes up to the inside and sides of the flower.

Gorgeous in everyway...sign me up for the color version. The colors are vivid and the warm/cool mix is very appealing. Yeah to get all the bloom in focus would take a focus stack probably. Beautiful shot devil

Beautiful.  The color version is so dynamic, that for me there is no question the color is by far the better version.  I think the oof front petals work as it does draw the eye in and the rear petals provide a nice backdrop  for the inner flower.  The black background works well, too.  Very well done.

Hi Lucy,

I like the color version, but the BW version will look good as a large print too.  Great color and I like the dark BG................Jim

I agree on the center of the flower is the money part of this shot. I think the choices you have made are good. Everything works on this for me. I do wish you had posted the techs, though.devil
