This is the same cactus blossom I posted a couple days ago with a close crop. Canon 60D, f16, 1/160 sec, iso 400, -0.7 EV, 24-105 ISL at 98 mm, full height, cropped off both sides.

The crop version here is lovely, Ed.  Much better.  Some times less is better.  Great detail that I couldn't see before, and no distractions.

Excellent, Ed. I also prefer this closer view. The like the square comp which really emphsizes the intricate design of the flower. devil

Ed, well done!  The tentacles are great but the pink petals frame the photo sooo well. Nice!

The crop works beautifully, Ed.  Love the play of pink and white and the lines of the petals - and the slightly askance look of the flower centre engages the eye nicely.

That is way cool, Ed.  Really neat detail and forms in the blossom.  To my eye, it looks like you might get more impact if you compose this with the center a bit lower and more to the right in the frame.  Beautiful color tones.

Hi   Ed crying   I  too  prefer  the cropped  version.   like Scott said,   it  emphasizes  the intricate design  of the flower  .  making  the lines and color  pop  out

Of the three images I favor this one. Done right with the crop!

A beautiful photo Ed! All has been said. I add only that my eyes are grateful for the  pleasure when looking at these beautiful opposite colors.
