The Sierra creeks and rivers are running hard. This is a chaotic look at some rapids in Bridalveil Creek in Yosemite Valley.

The big thaw has begun! This says it all, with the rocks barely showing. I like the shutter speed you chose, and the range of tones, though I'm wondering if it could be even a tad brighter? It does look very cold and a little chaotic, exactly what you were hoping to convey.

Chaotic for sure, Harley.  I have a hard time with these types of images.  It's just me not being able to wrap my mind around such a small cross section of a stream.  It's good to see the amount of moisture the Sierra's received this winter.  Most of our reservoirs are full too.  Looks like wading could be extremely hazardous.sad

Hi Harley,

Maybe tweak up the brightness slightly.  I like the effect that you were able to get with your camera settings.........Jim

Great choice on the SS; perfect for show casing the power of the rushing water, Harley. The larger version shows off the details and textures beautifully. Great eye to spot this section and isolate it.

Nice water study Harley. Right side appears a little bright around the edge. Nice find as I probably would have been transfixed to the main falls. But you have probably shot that a million times! No suggestions, nice intimate view.

There certainly is lots of churning here, Harley.  You've got fine top to bottom (or visa versa) eye movement here as well as capturing a great sense of the water's frenzy.

I see a sleeping shaggy dog.  Nice water abstract Harley.
