Life at 13,000 Feet

I took this photo in the Indian state of Ladakh. The mountains in Ladakh are young, spectacular and reminiscent of the Rockies, only much taller, with the tallest peaks being in the mid twenties. This valley was a mere 13,000 feet in elevation. In this scene, a lone shepherd tended to his flock in early Fall. Olympus E-M1 and 12-40 lens at f/9, 1/320 and ISO 200.

Really nice scene, and you did a good job of capturing the clearness and crisp feeling.  It does feel to me as though it is tilted to the left a bit, but I like it overall.  It has such a wide open feel, and the detail and colors are great.  Nice one.

Richard, this is a scenic that captures the vastness of the landscape very well.  The clouds appear to dangle just above the mountain ridges and the peaks are nice and sharp. The wandering animals in the foreground contribute to the wide open wandering space. I might consider cropping a bit on the Lt. to help focus in on the vastness.  Nicely seen and captured.

lovely capture of the place. The sheep add a lot to the scene.

Richard, What a beautiful scene! I too like what the sheep add to this and the peaceful feel it has.
