Eagle Walk

by Jerry Austin

This guy landed a short distance from another eagle eating a fish. He then started a slow walk towards the other eagle. As he walked, it looked like he was developing his plan of attack. It was interesting to see the long stride that he employed. I also like the fact that you can see those enormous talons very well. Processed using Lightroom CC (2015) and Photoshop CC (2017) along with Light Craft's LightZone. Comments and critiques welcome.

The sense of threat in the determined stride is quite something. I like the side glance it throws your way, as if it is saying, "You want a piece of me? I'll deal with you after I get my fish!"enlightened

Just out of curiosity, how do you know it's a he?wink

Phil, I think it is a male because this particular eagle was with an immature eagle a little while later and he was substantially smaller.  This is depicted in one of my previous posts entitled "Share?".

This is one of the best images of an eagle I have ever seen.  I think this is worth trying to get it published somewhere.

WOW frown what a great shot!  He looks like he should have a briefcase being held under his wing, as he appears to be so nonchalant...like he's walking down Wall Street for the hundredth time.  He just exudes power in those legs, claws and the way he's carrying himself....

Never can get enough of these birds, Jerry. I like the walking pose and the diagonal lines in the image. Well done on exposing the whites, great detail ! Wonderful result. Cheers, Hans

This eagle really stands out well against the gray background of the water.  I find the textural difference between the water in the foreground in the water in the background to be very interesting and the Eagle really pops against the background water.  Superb detail in the bird.  A great Eagle image.
