Tetons: Clearing Storm

I thoroughly enjoy crepuscular rays, which show when there are shadows on clouds/mist.  Here's a fall 2015 look at the north end of the Tetons across Willow Flats from Jackson Lake Lodge as a late afternoon storm began to clear showing off some great crepuscular rays against the distant mountains.  (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 @ 173mm, f/10, 1/640s, iso 200, tripod)  The details show much better in the larger view and (of course) my web site has the largest view.

Hello Mark,...Well done to capture this moment!  The rays look amazing, and the brightly coloured trees really add to the scene.

You certainly got to witness a spectacular scene from a beautiful place.  This is even more attractive as a larger image.  And even though there is a lot of nice color in the trees in the foreground, it would also make a very nice black-and-white.  Everything is laid out nicely.  A nice composition and well-done.

Beautiful, Mark.  The light crepuscular rays in front of the mountains would be enough but the light hitting the aspens takes it over the top.

Outstanding sunlight or crepuscular rays here, Mark. The FG works well too with the back lighting on the trees. The weather around this area has always been a real plus to scenic takes on this location.

I love this area of the park it is always a favorite visit when I'm in that area. My brother and I reminisce about having a wonderful "large" breakfast at the lodge taking in the lake during a rain storm. Great outing......laugh
