I normally am not a big fan of black bgs as I prefer a more natural bg, but this was taken outdoors in the local public gardens last spring (5/1/16) and the bg was in shadow, and what showed in the bg was a little distracting, so I took it all dark in pp. I do think it works well with the orange tulip. The raindrops are natural. Thoughts on this one? D600, sigma 150 f2.8 macro @ f22, 1/25, iso 200, cpl, tp.

Hi Scott,

I like this image.  The black BG works very well in your composition.  Flower has nice details and I also like the rain drops which are nice and sharp.............................Jim

Scott, my thought is that this is a beautiful work. Sharpness, colors, control of light on the shining petals, background ... everything is excellent.

Scott: Good decision on the BG IMO and a superb final result. Love the color richness and the drops are icing on a very fine cake. Really well done. >=))>

I think the black bg and the raindrops make this image extraordinary. Very nice.

This is gorgeous, Scott, and as any aficionado of Halloween would tell you, orange and black go together very nicely.  Beautiful detail throughout and an excellent job on the processing.

Orange is my fav flora color for digital views on the monitor.   This is another one that is so well done.  Excellent in all respects.
