Crysanthemum III

Third and final view of this bloom.  I did look up the leaf structure and confirm that it's a Mum.  I wanted to try to get an image from underneath with most of the light coming from above.  It did present some challenges in holding down the brightness where the petals curl at the ends.  I'm not sure if the bg color is too much in this one or not-some times it seems that way and other times it seems fine.

5DIII, EF 180 f/3.5L, tripod and cable release, 8 image stack, all images at f/16, 1/25 sec, iso 500, aperture priority, pattern metering, +1 EV.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Stacking in Zerene Stacker.  Once again, I rotated the image a bit to provide a more pleasing angle and filled the resulting crop triangles using content aware fill.

Comments and criticisms are very much appreciated.

Thanks,

I prefer them in the order in which you have presented the images. As I mentioned earlier, I do like the softer, more pastel-like image. However, all are excellent.

My thoughts match, Jim's, but that's just a subjective opinion. Technically, all are excellent. devil

Well made. This says a lot for a studio use of Zerene. Using f/16 and 8 images works well when you don't have to be concerned with detail in the BG. It should also cut down a good bit on your editing as well.

Dennis: I absolutely love the lighting on this and the BG is the perfect complement for me. Superbly captured and presented. >=))>
