I promise this is the last Tarn image. I thought this one would be a good one to finish with as it gives everyone a better idea of the place. The others were a bit more impressionistic with a slight wind blurring the fall colors reflected in the water and this one is a bit more literal with the autumn colored trees a little more obvious in the reflection.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

Promise? sadenlightened   Just kidding Ed.  I love these - hard to get tired of the colors, reflections and the grasses.  I can see what you're saying about this one being a little more literal and being able to get a sense of the place.  I think I prefer the more abstract ones where the reflection is a little more blurred or soft.  With this one, I could see boosting the exposure in the grasses a tad to make them more prominent?  Just a thought.

Very minor, but you might consider cloning/cropping the brighter spots near the right edge. again, minor.

Enjoy viewing these very much.

The reflection is wonderful, and I love the color. It could be just me and old eyes but the sedges seem to soft. I see it in both versions. I do like this more more literal take. I have really enjoyed your 'Tarns' series, Ed.

This is another nice one!  Yeah, this is a bit less impressionist, but still works quite well. Great series.

I have certainly enjoyed these tarn-scapes.  This one is no exception.  The reflections are a nice element, though  I would say they maybe seems a bit bright on my monitor.

I like this, Ed.  Great use of layers and contrasting textures and color.  It'seems also interesting the contrast between  the horizontal lines in the ripples in  the water and the vertical lines in the grass.

That's quite pleasant and perhaps the best of your "tarn" images.  Great combination of elements and textures with the reeds on top and the wonderful fall colors reflected in the smooth water below.

I like this one, Ed. The impressionistic feeling works well to me. I agree with increasing the luminosity on the grass. I am very curios to see the more impressionistic one. Thank you for posting.

Ed, These have all been a fun series to view and this one was a great way to finish up. I think this one is my second favorite with Tarn Layers being my first. Nice work on these!

I think this is my favorite tarn image. I like the horizontal ripples and how they've broken up the reflection just enough to where it's not a mirror image. I would bring the levels up just a bit in the grasses.devil

I think I agree with Michael that this may be your best. I still would prefer that the image not be 1/2 reflection and 1/2 reeds. Would prefer to crop off the top area to the top of the bottom row of green reeds and give the reeds a role as more of a framework around the reflections. I think this is a better image than the other due to a greater variety of reflections.
