NamibRand Nightscape
by Morkel Erasmus
The Namib Rand Reserve is 202,000 hectares of unspoilt desert wilderness, where the Kalahari bleeds into the Namib desert in a clash of red dunes, camelthorn trees and mountains.
I captured this image with some moonlight from a quarter moon, and some light painting up front. A storm had been passing through all day and lightning was still striking all around.

5 commentsA beautiful and well executed night-sky landscape. I really like the light on the foreground landscape wheter it's natural from the moon, or painted. Less excited about the light painting in the tree; maybe burn that down a tad? Otherwise, no nits. Well done.

I'll play around with toning down the painting on the tree. Foreground is pretty much moonlight as captured.
