Bald Eagle & Repost

The Bald Eagles at Big Beef Creek seemed to be doing more of their own fishing and a little less thieving than usual last week.  This shot is from the first morning.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600mm, hand held, f/7.1, 1/4000, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped a fair amount from the bottom and right and added a touch of canvas on the top.  Image size is 10.5 MP before resizing for the web.  Taken at 6:58 AM on June 14th.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Nice action you managed to capture here Dennis. Love the intent look of the eagle and the great look at the wing on the right. Techs look really good. Well done.

Dennis:

Looks pretty nice.  I like the angle of the eagle you captured.  I'm distracted by the horizontal line of stuff in the water near the top of the frame.

Always great to get an eagle in the viewfinder.

Nice clear eagle image with wonderful morning light.  The stuff in the upper BG is a little bit of an eye magnet.

Sweet action and lighting here Dennis, I particularly like the bit of seaweed he's pulling up as well.  I could see cloning out the oof oyster bed in the back.  devil

Thanks for the input.  Now that it's been mentioned I see that the oysters draw the eye-one of the things that's great about this website is that kind  of feedback.

Here's a  version with it removed and a touch more cropped off the top and left of the image.

The repost is outstanding, Dennis. A great capture of a Bald Eagle actually earning a living, even if it looks like a squawfish.

You got a splendid pose and an excellent angle on this eagle, Dennis. The lighting is also very good. The horizontal line at the top didn't bother me much, but the repost is definitely better.
