Frozen Fleet

The famous Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon in Iceland. An impressively beautiful place, and once the tourist hubbub (yeah, I am part of it, I know) calms down in the evening, also very pleasant and tranquil. I loved how the icebergs float around the lagoon like a fleet of frozen ships, hence the title.

Nikon D610, 18-35 AF-S at 18 mm, nothing unusual. :)

Those moving bergs always keep you guessing as to where to set up.  Can drive you crazy!  Love the light on the bergs to the left of the frame as lit from behind.  A special place for sure, despite the crowds.  Like that you didn't try to hold to much detail in the sun - it should look nice and bright like you have represented it.

Thanks Harry! Didn't have much of a choice with the sun, there was a thin cloud layer that diffused the light - pulling down those highlights would have led to nastiness, I think. :)

Tranquil is the right word for sure. This is a really pleasing photo, and I like it a lot! The combination of the warm light and the blue ice bergs is nice.

Very nice the way the light hits the ice edges and the translucent effect of the light creating blue colors across the lagoon. There's a nice mixture of warmth and coolness.

Ain't that the truth! This is a really nice image. The bright areas do not bother me. In fact, they add to the drama for me.

Nicely done, Basil.

Having just returned from the arctic and its magical light, I am impressed with how well you have captured its full beauty.  A wonderful image.

Beautiful light with a nice reflection in the water and on the icebergs. The geometry  of the icebergs brings a special dimension to the picture. Nice work.
