Kane Creek Picnic Area

Since I haven't done landscape except on a snapshot basis, I really had to search for something that fit this one.  Not as grand as the first few posts, but it was still pretty cool when I passed through there this past February.  For reference, this is on Hwy 191 in Utah, south of Moab.

5D3, 28-70mm f/2.8 ISL @ 28mm, tripod, 1/1250, f/9.0, iso 500, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Full frame.  Taken February 13th, 2015 at 10:46 am (not the best time of day so I fiddled with some filters and lifted the shadows a bit).

With all the landscape folks out there this should be a popular challenge.

This definitely (and nicely) shows the character of the "red rocks" in the Moab area and you've got some fine touches of clouds.  The larger version does a good job of putting me there.

Dennis, I always enjoy scenes like this that can incorporate a diagonal flow or view similar to this. You've done an excellent job in working that aspect into this rock formation. Composition is excellent and I see no changes beyond maybe TOD, but even that looks very acceptable and basically very good for that hour.......nice!

Hi Dave, a beautiful spot and you captured it well.  Just enough blue sky with a few whispy clouds sets off the rock nicely.  Good details in the shadows too and the comp. looks fine.  I can just spot a little arch in the LR corner which really makes everything interesting.  The inclusion of some foreground is a nice plus.
