A fine view, Dave.  The lighting (and going b&w) lets the foreground outcrop grab most of my attention and sets it off well against the sky while the dark ridge behind adds a good sense of depth.

I've hiked the White Mtns in New Hampshire but didn't know about them in CA, so this was a good learning experience.  Excellant choice for B&W Dave.  Nice lighting on the rocks there and I like your inclusion of the dark hills in the background, the line of which is perpendicular to the leading edge of the outcropping.  Good overall work on this.
