Vibrant color, a good comp and perfect lighting!  I might hit this one with a bit more sharpening, though.

Hi Albert,

I like the detail and color of  the flower and the center of the flower is placed well for the composition.  The fly is soft in part due to its size.  The wing veins are fairly sharp.  Boost up the contrast and slectively sharpen the soft areas of the fly. Otherwise, I like the flower by itself.............................Jim

Hi Albert. What a beautiful rose image! The hoverfly is well positioned but, as noted by Jim, a bit soft. Maybe subject movement? To be honest, unless you can sharpen up the fly as suggested by Jim, you may be better off cloning out the fly because the rose really stands on its own. It's gorgeous. Really one of the best rose images I've seen posted at NPN. Looks like one of Ram's rose images with the swirl. devil

p.s., if you took this same rose image w/o the fly, be sure to post it in flora.

Now that a small subject, Albert.  The textures and colors in the rose are great and that little fly is a fine "touch of spice" in a warm and inviting image.

I agree with Scott, "Looks like one of Ram's rose images with the swirl."

The little hoverfly has some good original detail that would hold up to a bit of selective sharpening..

Since you're in the macro gallery, I'd go for it Albertenlightened

Well done!devil
