Step Into My Parlor

by Howard Cheek

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted July 12, 2015105 views8 comments

“Will you walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to shew when you are there.”
“Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again.” (Mary Howitt)

I like this one best for its eye to eye contact/interaction with the fly, the spiders menacing 'attack' pose, and the added interest of the trailing web line..

F/16, 1/160th, ISO 640, 5DM2, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 + 1.4x with fill @ 11:13am & clear.

Howard, I swear that I've already commented on this, but ... (hey, I'll blame old age... ahh, now I see the earlier post, guess I can return in my AARP card...)

The color combo here is great with that bright green spider against the orange flower.  I thin that little fly is in deep trouble.  You've got some amazing detail in the spider with it eyes and the spines on it's legs.  The raised abdomen adds adds well with it's bright green color and good sharpness that weren't there in the earlier shot.

Gads, what a scary feeling this fly must have, eh?........WOW, I just saw the trailing web line too. How neat is that added feature.

Congratulations on another EP here, Howard. Image looks great also.........devil
