Sony A77
Sony 70-400G @ 160mm, CPL
ISO 200, 1/15 @ f8

Probably not everyone's cup of tea but still thought I would put it out there. Taken in Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. I had a lot of fun glassing over the canyon walls with my long lens and extracting various scenes. I like that the scale is not obvious and the riot of color immediately caught my eye. All comments welcome.>=))>

Wonderful composition, both color wise and placement. The exaggerated colors work really well for you. I would bring the greens down a bit. The blues seem pretty good in the small image but seem too large in the bigger version.

The colors in this is amazing, I've never seen so many different colors in rock in a natural setting like that, nice shot

Thought it was a Jason Pollack painting, also thought it should be horizontal...an amazing abstract work, good scoping out great selection, Bill.

A rock climbers view of the world! One could work their way along the vertical finger crack, though a little gardening might be necessary for foot holds. We all bring different appreciations to our viewing.

Thanks for sharing your micro landscape.

I like it a lot. I like natural abstracts in general. The patches of grass, if it is grass, (not some huge prehistoric ferns), add some sense of scale, however
The colors are the real asset here for me.

It's a nice abstract. Although I will disagree and say that I would LOVE to see something that shows a sense of scale, because I'm sure it's BIG. :)

I am often intrigued by the colors found on rocks and your shot is a great example of color and texture creating a striking near-abstract.

I really like this, Bill. The comp and colors are fascinating. It looks like it was a sunny slope and seems a bit washed out. Wondering it it would be possible to recapture some color and contrast in processing.

Pretty amazing collection of colors here, Bill. Guess I've roamed the western US enough to be able to recognize the sizes here, but I do like your comp. and all the colors. Well seen.

This is exactly why lichens are so incredibly cool! You captured a very nice scene here, Bill. The colors and the lines in the rocks, it all works together very well.

Fantastic abstract Bill, with just a touch of grounding. I really like the colors.
