Very interesting abstract, Tom. Optically illusory as well. Some tech details would be nice!

I love this Tom. Rockscapes are a favorite of mine, and this really fits the bill. Beautiful colors, textures, and lines. Well done.

This is a surprisingly straight shot of the surf eroded sandstone cliffs near Coogee, Canon 5D II 17-40 L with tripod, eye level. As this area is often bombarded with salt spray, the action chemically erodes the sandstone cement. The layers become well distinguished as the iron content oxidizes, or the more porous layers darken as they encourage growth of lichens. The dark line squiggling down the center is a shallow dihedral with a crack extending back into the rock to the right. Very little post processing, the bottom dodged a bit as it was fairly dark, in a distracting way. Only slight adjustments to clarity, saturations and curves to emphasize the tonal values of the rock striations. The vertical expanse perhaps 5-6 ft.

Hi Tom,

The tones and textures have my self really enjoying this image, and the composition works really well for me because of the diagonal it creates in the frame. This image almost looks like two people embracing in a kiss, good stuff Tom!!

Very nice abstract, Tom. That center line shape is very appealing.
