Two Old Friends

This was shot near the outskirts of Beattie, NV during one of the Death Valley trips. My son had fallen from his bike in DV and we came to this small town to get it stitched up. The picture was taken towards the end of the day.

I seem to have an attraction to this image which my friends from southern california share more than those from norcal. I'm curious what NPN members think.

Hey Igor,
I really like this image also, not really sure why.
It is well balanced, has great light throughout and the colors are perfect with a nice flow from side to side.
Well seen and presented . . . :toast:

This is a lovely, fall image (probably not summer if you're close to Death Valley). Love the bark patterns on the trees, and the lovely light. And I'm from norcal, by the way!

I'm drawn in to the path between the trees. Very soothing color palette with great textures in the trees. This is an image that I would never get tired viewing.

The light is really nice on this, Igor. The dirt pathway also draws me right into the frame. The placement of the 3 clumps of trees is very pleasing.

This scene was shot several years ago. I remember walking from left to right when I came across this spot. I don't believe this was a path or a pathway but I never walked in that direction to find out. There was a pond to the left of this image and that's why there are dry cat tails in that section. I think I was attracted to the pond initially but found nothing interesting so moved on. Those could be cottonwood trees. We have late fall scenes like this along the Sacramento River as well.

Igor, This is just wonderful. The light and mood you have in this scene is so inviting. You large version makes me feel like I'm standing right there, and that is really nice! Your comp works great. :toast:

Hi Igor,

This image has such a warm and affectionate nature about it. I can't help but feel kindness when I see this image. You placed the elements in this scene very well, and beautiful work.

This is a lovely look at these cottonwoods and surroundings, Igor. While it doesn't look like a path, the sandy area in the foreground creates a nice clean entry to the view and certainly invites me to go exploring. The soft light adds well to the sense of gentle warmth and really shows off the limb scars on the trees.

very sharp but without un-natural halos or excess of unsharp mask. Very pleasurable also composition, but my favourite aspect is the control of colours.
all the best,
