December 24, 2014 at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine, California. While set up for Grebe shots on the pond, a flock of Canada Geese swam into the area. A short while later that was a huge clatter when they all took off at once. I snapped off a couple dozen shots and this is one of them.

Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm 1.4TC 850mm ISO320 1/1600 f/9 RAW White balance auto Processed in Lightroom, PhotoshopCC2014, NIK and TK.

Good action and I like the slight look back from the goose -- looks like it could use some straightening if you have the room on the right

Good stop in the action Patrick. I agree about the straitening, but what stands out more to me is the left side of the frame. I appears you may have added canvas on the left or cloned one or more items (not sure which one), but there seems to be a few repeated patterns and a slight focus, color and brightness difference on the left side.

Kurt, you astutely caught the fact that I cloned other geese out. Need to work it over. Thanks for helping me to know what matters. :toast:

Nice stop action takeoff shot Patrick. I agree with the others on the need to straighten the scene, and I would be tempted to try the Content Aware tool in CC to smooth out the area where the cloning was applied, I've had good luck with that tool on uniformed areas of an image.

Merry Christmas!

The repost is good. The leveling strengthens the action, I think. This isn't just for you, Patrick, but I urge everyone to describe cloning out elements of the photo where it has been done.
