This was a trial photo. I Never took a picture at almost total darkness. You never know how it will turn-out.

Approx. 2 minute exposure @ f/16 20mm

I'd say this turned out pretty well. The colors and detail in the rocks came out well in this exposure. The composition is nicely balanced between the rocks and the still water. Good color gradation between the sky and the water. I like how the shore line leads to the lighthouse. :toast:

Hey Holger,
This turned out sweet, the rocks are amazing and lead the eye to the lighthouse as mentioned. What intrigues me the most however, is the way the wave action is represented at the shore line. It seems to have created a fog effect for lack of a better term. Very cool and a unique perspective,
Well done . . . :toast:

I really like it - the composition and point of view are excellent, and the light works very well.

Very cool image, but I don't really like the flare above the light star on the lighthouse.

Turned out great, Holger. Well composed, beautiful colors throughout, and I like the lighthouse "lightstar." :toast:

This turned out quite well. A successful experiment. Nice glow in the water, too. Real nice!

Holger, This turned out very nice and it does have a unique look being shot in almost total darkness. Nice colors in this and that glow on the water and rocks is very nice. The last time I photographed a lighthouse at night like this I ended up covering the lens with my hat every time the light came around after the first couple so it wasn't quite so bright after the long exposures. This worked out quite nice however.

Nick:
Thanks for your suggestion on covering the lens when the light comes around.
That probably would cut-down on the glare on top of the light.

I would like to second the comments that have already been made. This has a very nice color palate. The star created by the light and the motion of the water really add to the image. Great image.

This is a wonderful composition Holger. I might try and reduce the lens flare.

This is the best I can do on the Lighthouse Glare.
