Play Misty for Me

Here's another misty morning image from Leidig Meadow in Yosemite.

I liked the naked cottonwood trees and the reddish willows against the dark conifer forest and the translucent layers of mist hugging the meadow.

Good stuff, Preston. The layers in FG & MG work nicely with the colors of the rest.

A beauty, Preston!! Excellent comp, colors and mist.

Good thing I dragged your lazy hiney out of your warm bag early that morning.

Perfect layering of colors and textures. Stunning image. It captures that autumn feeling that always seems to tug at my heart strings. Beautiful

Definitely one of your best, Preston. All those layers and everything just sings. The colors are so natural and there's interest to keep your eyes and brain engaged for a long time.

Preston, your "misty morning" shots are all very appealing and gently inviting. Yes, this may be the best of all. The subtle warmth of the meadow works very well with the muted colors of the mid-ground trees. I love those clusters of leaves at the top of the cottonwoods.

Well balanced and soothing with the mist. This one is a favorite of the images from this location.

I like everything you said you liked. What is really amazing is the all these wonderful sights are in one frame! And what is even better is that your composition shows off all of these wonderful elements in such beautiful juxtaposition. Add one more thing -- your absolutely perfect processing -- an it doesn't get better than this.

You did a great job with this one Preston. I love how the mist and the bare cottonwoods just pop off the screen. The dark forest in the BG is great just as it is and I think lends to the starkness of the mist and trees. I have been trying to capture Leidig like this for years. I am not yet successful.
