The knife edge ridge to the left of the Harper Icefall was the first ascent route of this great mountain. Taken from about 15,000'

I think the b&w treatment does the ruggedness of this landscape justice. I'd be tempted to crop out the sky to give more emphasis to the ridge line.

The serpentine ridge is graphically powerful, and the view showing the mountain tops puts it all in context. Excellent processing.

Excellent B&W Tom. I love the strong leading lines of the ridge.

Nice graphic image of Denali. The Karstens Ridge is miles long. The true summit is the peak on the left. Great job with the processing on this one, Tom.

One can see how the pioneer party made an ascent of the lower North Peak by mistake as it is closer and looks higher. In the clear air of altitude distance is difficult to estimate accurately. The climbers love these sorts of images printed quite large as they revel in the mountain detail. I have had shows in Talkeetna where the climbers gathered around and traced "routes" up the prints with great enthusiasm. Mountain porn is what they call it. One of the favorites of these is a large print of the South Face made with a 50 mp Hasselblad with super detail.

My daughters first trip up the mountain was via Karsten's Ridge and she and her husband have traversed down this way several times. Long hike out!
