An evocative image, Rick, with the right light to match.

I like the composition and the sun flare plus the tiny man makes it much more interesting and helps provide a mood for the scene. The only unfortunate thing is that dirty haze that looks more like pollution than vapors or fog. A good shot though, and definitely fit for the theme, Rick.

Rick the scene and that amazing sunstar are special. Given the season it's probably no surprise that my first reaction to the thumb was to think "star of Bethlehem". I'm also speculating on the impact that this scene would have if your subject wasn't using a walking stick.

Hey Rick,
This is may favorite of your entries into this week's WC. Very well seen and captured. This image has a very pleasing first impression and I agree with Mark, it has a Biblical feel to it that is very subtle but undeniable.
Well done . . . :toast:

Simple & effective, it's a strong image Rick.
The 'lone man' in silhouette using a cane, with sunburst on high is highly evocative..
You did good man
God Bless Texas :wavey:
