Pre-Winter Palette

Actually "Eli & His Pre-Winter Palette" but it didn't fit.

A late fall shot when the alpine tundra still has it's colors but the snow is fast approaching at the higher elevations. The lone tree plays a close second for a subject but both of them are small in the frame.

Sony DSC-R1, ISO-200, f8.0, 1/320

Gary, the juxtaposition of fall colors in the foreground against the snowy, cloudy mountains tells a great story and Eli (and "his" tree) are wonderfully positioned for grabbing attention and providing a size reference.

Nicely composed, Gary. I really like the color and saturation of the FG contrasting against the lack of color in the BG. Well done. Your friend adds a nice element as well. And the tree, too. I like that you put the transition on a diagonal and not on a horizontal line.
