Unexpected Treasure

On business travel, I only had a little bit of time to explore the Phoenix area. Been to AZ several times but never paid attention to Phoenix being a congested city and all that. Sorry for the analogy but it reminds me of LA in many ways..... especially the nondescript sprawling suburbs. However, South Mountain Park seem a bit different at least this day that I visited. Only a few cars passing through as I was...... but massive parking lots tell me this is a much different place on the weekends. First time I have captured images of the big cactus. A lot more beautiful treasures to visit I am sure.Anyway, thanks for looking.

Nice, clean image. Looks like the desert near Phoenix! South Mountain is an awesome park. Right smack dab in the middle of everything, but not difficult to find relative solitude, even on the weekends. I have several images from that park

Nice to get out and explore when you are on a biz trip. If this were mine, I would go B&W with it. I think the harsher light and the ability to darken the sky can heighten the look. YMMV

Eva,

This is a well composed image with crisp colors and beautiful details. My parents have a place in Fountain Hi, AZ which I need to visit and go do some exploring.

I might try the b+w conversion suggestion from Harley as I think the sky could really shine in a conversion, and there is plenty of details to explore.

A beautiful view Eva

Not bad for the middle of Phoenix (: I like the natural feel this has and the well positioned cacti. Nicely seen and presented.

Typical SW Desert country. I think a b/w conversion is a neat idea.

Sprawling suburbs or not, your image looks like the old west to me, Eva. Nice, balanced composition, with one of the cacti with the sky in the background.

Nice desert scene, Eva. I agree with Harley's suggestion to try this in B&W. This looks like a neat place to cruise around.

This is a nice desert scene, Eva. I like the bright, clear view and your comp works great for me. I too like Harley's idea of trying a b&w with this image.
