Sweet Gum Duo

Got back to the wildlife refuge yesterday to chase more Sweet Gum leaves and found this fine pair. With a bit more sun and slightly less wind, I was able to get this 12 image stack to work. (5D3, 100mm macro IS, 1/320s, f/8, iso 400, tripod and polarizer)

Nice, serene mood to this, Mark - perfect dof, light and colour, the stack allowing the leaves to stand out beautifully.

Love the placement of this in the scene, Mark. I really enjoy seeing images that present a thought of looking at nature with a slight twist. The color and details just add to the viewing pleasure. Very nice indeed.

btw: I was out at DVNP for a few days and missed any update you had with your new metal prints. Hope that all finished up with very positive results.

Nice! One of my favorite species for leaves and fruit, even though I can't find them this far north.
Great that you could get a stack; the lighting, as well as the focus reveals wonderful details!

Phenomenal detail Mark. Your hard work paid off on this one. I'm on the fence about the bit of spider web. If there was more of it and/or it didn't look like a meteor trail, I wouldn't feel that way. The way it appears is a bit of a distraction from the fine overall comp and image.
