The heavens declare the glory of God
Sony A77
Sony SAL16-50 @ 26mm
ISO 200, 1/60 @ f8

On a whirlwind tour of Colorado around a medical conference in Denver later this week. My first stop was at Great Sand Dunes NP and this was the sunset there tonight, easily the most spectacular display I've ever had the good fortune to witness with a competent camera in hand. This was the end to a very productive day so I hope this will be the first of many from the trip. All comments welcome. >=))>

After i saw the sunset from Pueblo tonight (out here it was blazing red...) i was kicking myself for not going without sleep to go out and get a shot of it. Ah well...glad you were able to take advantage of it!

Amazing sky, but where are the dunes  I would have like to see a little more land at the bottom. The colors and processing look spot on. :toast:

Wonderful flow of light here, Bill. The strip of color, lower right along the horizon, works very well by adding enough interest to the rhs to make right quarter an important part of the image.

Now that's some sky Bill. Wonderful colors in this. I agree with Harry about a little more at the bottom but wonderful as is.

An amazing sight expertly captured. Sure, an amazing dune foreground would be interesting too, but it could not compete with such an overwhelming light show. There is no need for secondary subjects, especially considering such a fitting title.

Glorious light and color, Bill. Really like the minimal strip of land across the bottom, just enough to ground the image. Stunning.

A majestic sky to say the least. Very nice. I like the sliver of land and that huge sky.
