Chaos

Hi all :)
This was taken last year in november.
It's a wild hill near Padua that was covered with a chaos af shapes and colors.
For me it was very difficult to "order" the elements to obtain something sensible.
One day shooting and two shots saved...this is the first!

Eos 30D, 200mm, f/4, 1/8 sec, ISO 100, tripod

Hard for me to get past the large area of OOF leaves in the foreground to the better stuff in the back. Perhaps if the foreground was considerably darker... or cropped some?

I agree with Dave that I find the fore ground distracting. Some nice colors and details in the back round though.

I agree with the previous comments. I like the top 2/3 of the image.

Perfect situation for a focus stack, unless the wind was blowing. I'm agree that the OOF foreground takes some away from this explosion of color.

Wonderful splash of autumn color, but will have to agree with others that the out of focus foreground distracts from the lovely detail and color in the background. Your composition works well though. Perhaps you have another shot of this in which you used a smaller aperture??? The tree in back is beautiful.

Thank you all. :)
A friend of mine is a professionist in nature photography and told me exactly what you told me: the OOF foreground is distracting.
Initially I did not completely agree with him but, reading your comments, I must now admit that this is the truth.
The way in which I perceive the picture is "distorted" by the fact that I'm somehow involved in it.
Your "detached" vision helps me to understand its real limits.
Thank you :)

Ricardo, the deep colors are beautiful. In addition to the comments of others, it would be nice to see the very top of the red tree in the upper-right region of the photo.

Lots of potential here Ricardo, and I really do enjoy the colors and details in the background. I agree with the others thoughts on the oof foreground.
