Sorry I have been MIA - great to see a lot of new people! Welcome!
93-yr-old mother with Alzheimers here in CA, and 94-yr-old father ill in Florida have just overwhelmed me. I have hardly touched my cameras since getting back from Africa in June. In addition, we are remodeling our home in California to sell in 18 months or so, and have just closed on a great ocean-view home on the Southern Oregon coast, in Brookings. I'll hope to post a few of the spoonbills and reddish egrets from our time in Sanibel recently. We were able to spend a few days there when in florida with father.

Sandy, I'm very sorry to hear about your parents--hang in there. I really like this shot. Very simple composition. If it was cropped at all, it would be interesting to see more of the reflection. I don't know if it would help anything, it would just be interesting to see what more reflection would do for the overall image. Very nice.

Hi Sandy, you got a great pose here with the raised wings and foot with a nice head turn too. I'm ok without all of the reflection, I don't think it detracts from the image. The large image detail is fantastic! Good luck with everything your facing, hope everything settles down for you soon. :toast:

Nice one Sandy. Like the action pose you caught the bird in. Nice detail in the wing feathers. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry about the family challenges, Sandy. Also sorry to hear you have troubles with the 500mm; that's limiting. Good to see you are getting out occasionally. Excellent capture of this handsome fellow showing off his wings.

Wonderful capture. Esp like how the feet make the pose look almost coy.
