Bathing Robin

The European Robin was taking a bath (our Robins are small birds) and splashing around. I wanted to show this - so chose for a rather large frame around the bird to maximize the impact of the droplets - for you to decide if it works  . As usual I can recommend checking out the larger version.

Hans,
The detail on the Robin is remarkable, I quite like the composition, probably because it breaks the rules
Not much good for a Christmas Card though

Hans, I like this a lot. The little Robin is super sharp and all those drops show how much action was actually going on. I think this comp works but I would like see it with less room on top too just to see the difference. Great shot! :toast:

I love this comp showing what big splashes this little bird was making. I also like the colors and the bg.

Hans the composition is just fine for me showing all those water droplets, just enough of a reflection, it's great!

Cheers Keith.

A creative and completely appropriate composition, Hans. Little bird; big splash. I love that it loads on my screen top to bottom.

Very effective Hans - the robin is nice and sharp and is still the focus despite being small

Excellent. The vertical comp really makes it look like rain.

Awesome! Wouldn't change a thing about this image. Love the extra space in the photo. I think it helps make the image.

Abso-freakin-lutely love this one, Hans! In a class by itself. I don't know if you contribute images to competitions, but this one could do well in the best of them because of its uniqueness and outstanding execution on your part. Seriously...the word "masterpiece" probably gets thrown around a bit loosely on photography forums, but this surely has to be entering that realm.

There are so many of your images that are stunning, aesthetically mesmerizing, and beautifully captured, processed and presented, but this one is VERY unique.
