It has been a bad year for European yellow jackets. When viewed at sun up, they are more mellow and cooperative. K5 IIs, 180mm f3.5 (1/60 sec at f16, ISO 400), LR Exposure, shadows, highlights, NR, CS5 Topaz Detail, In Focus, Crop for comp........................Jim

Love the details and the yellow background that blends into the green - mimicking the yellow jacket on the vegetation

I like that the whole insect is in focus and there's lots of detail. Well composed, a nice pose, and the great BG. Excellent work.

Excellent image of the yellow jacket against the soft but colorful bg, Jim. Super detail throughout the subject, and an excellent comp.

Very well captured, Jim, with some great detail in the insect. The yellow bg wash complements the subject beautifully - very nicely composed.
