A Common house spider doing some web repair. I get distracted a lot this time of year poking around my back yard looking at bugs. Found this gal Thursday evening.

D300s
Tamron 60mm f2 macro
ISO 400
1/25 @ f/8
Tripod
PP in LRCC5.6, NIK

John,

A good view of a fuzzy spider. The image looks over-sharpened to me. Other than that minor nit, you did a good job with getting the spider in fairly sharp focus. The web is also nice and sharp and the simple backgrounds works quite well for your composition...........................Jim

Interesting to see the silk being released from the abdomen. Nice image with fine detail and colors. The BG really helps set off the spider. Two things I might try in the future. Increase ISO a bit so you can close down the aperture some so the DOF is greater to get all of spider sharp. Wait a little longer to see it spider gives you a head up view instead of a view from down under. Regardless a good shot and one that's not in my portfolio.

Nice clean image of the spider constructing its web, John. Excellent detail everywhere it counts. Top notch spider shot. :toast:

Excellent capture John ! I love the web pattern against the gray background. Agree that a smaller aperture might yield more spider's body parts in focus. :toast:

John ..some fine detail on the spider. As a person photographing spiders often, I face the challenge of identifying the spiders front face. If we were to wait..spiders to turn around. Good detail in the image ..
