Blue Glory 2

Hi all.

A profile of the same bloom as my last shot.

1. Does this one work better or not?
(I do have the entire stem sharp, still was not able to do anything with that bud).
2. Does the bud kill the shot for you?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts and suggestions.

Yes I like it better. There is less contrast and more light. No problem for me with the bud.
Cheers.

Nathan, the buds really don't bother me in this version for several reasons. First, the stem and all buds are sharp. Second, there are multiple buds sort of spaced out around the base of the blossom, nicely balanced, with none directly in front. Having said that, I do like the wider, more upward view of the bloom in the first version a bit more. But overall, I prefer this version. Well done and an excellent image. :toast:

Nathan,

I like this one better than your first version. The buds add a base for the flower and the flower has some wonderful texture. I like a little extra edge around the subject, but I believe that the tight composition works with the subtly colors presented by the flower.....................Jim

Nathan: I will give this one an edge over the original but both are winners IMO. I like the bud. >=))>

The buds work fine with this image, better than the first. I am solid on the side of this image. :toast:

Both images are exquisite, Nathan. If I prefer this one it is simply because of the more slender form of the flower. The bud is not a problem.

Much better, Nathan. The buds add a very nice tough to this image - makes it look like a painting. Would it be possible to shoot this a little more from the left to create some more separation between the main bud and the flower?
