Prairie Fire & Rain

The wood or prairie lily is an uncommon to rare plant of mesic prairies in the Midwest. I found this particular flower during a rain shower and I did not expect to find any on this particular trip. I still have a little more work to do with this image as the jpeg version is slightly more saturated than the tif file. Pentax K5 IIs, 300mm DA* F4 plus 32mm Extension (1/640 sec. at f5.0, ISO 500). 16 image stack (Pmax) Levels, Curves, Rubber stamp tool for artifact removal, Topaz Detail..................Jim

Lovely details on the anthers Jim,
the dew/rain drops just add more charisma to the image.

1 nit & that wud be to try an horizontal orientation & include the whole flower maybe

Jim - This is a very bold Composition and I like it very much  .

I also like the excellent DOF which has covered everything that is there to cover in the flower

Excellent stack and detail. All the good stuff is there, but I'm with Krunai in a preference for the horizontal, mostly because I cannot think of a reason to exclude parts of four petals.

I really like the detail and colors of the anthers and the water drops add to the image.

The clarity here is amazing, Jim. I also like how you've positioned the flower in the frame with attention focused on the stamen and anthers.

No problem with the vertical comp, Jim; love the bold, contrasting colors. Fine stack processing. Well done.
