(I think. All you plant experts correct me if the Photo Title is wrong.)

When visiting Utah earlier this month, my brother and I spent the night at Paria. The color banding in the eroded faces of the buttes is wonderful, and we shot abstracts with the late light, the Milky Way in the middle of the night, and sunrise the following morning. As we left the area the following day, I saw some white, cotton-like things behind the picnic area. They almost looked like white trash. I had been over using an ankle I twisted several days earlier, so my brother was kind enough to go check them out. He reported they were flowers, so I over used the ankle some more to check them out.

Nikon D7100
Nikon 12.0-24.0 mm f/4.0 at 12 mm (18mm equiv.)
Blend of 1/60, 1/125, and 1/2000 at f/22 and ISO 100
Four images for DOF and DR

I like this image a lot. Great foreground capture with the wide angle lens and depth of field. Would like to see less of the sun.

Thanks for sharing this image.

Heck ya, abuse that ankle…it’ll heal..but you won’t see this again! Nice capture..blending skills are evident…but, the subtle tones and colors are your mastery. Well done!

Fabulous look at the primrose, with the light and the camera angle making that first pair the stars of the show. I like the sunstar.

Huge thanks for the feedback everyone! Sometimes the flora is a part of the landscape, but sometimes the landscape is just a part of the flora
