Mist in the Valley

I've been on a processing roll... just churning through my old images to refine them in ways I couldn't previously. This was always a difficult image for me to process, and still I needed several layers to get it "right". This is a different frame than my last attempt. I now leave it to this trusted community to help me refine it further.

Thanks again for your valuable insight!

That's intriguing. A bit dark to my taste. Nice place, nice image.

This one sure is a lot better than the old one.
You tried too hard to bring out detail on the old one instead of just going with the mist as you did in this one which
makes it much nicer.
I think the top with the mist is just about right, you can still see the subtle curves through
the mist and the mind does the rest.
I might still try to lighten the highlights in the lower slopes just a tad.
It is giving the look that the sun is ready to break through at any moment, a bit more light
would heighten that feel for me.

The diagonal layers here sure make for lots of depth and I like the touch of back light along the ridgelines. The darker regions near the bottom start to show some nice detail in the larger version. I like this version better because the lower contrast lets me see more detail in the lower ridges.

This is head and shoulders above the first version, Navin. What strikes me in this version is that you've let the subtle light really take the stage. The large view is fantastic.. The layers of ridges with the spots of light and the fog sifting thru make a very nice presentation. I agree with Dan that the highlights could be brought up, but really nice as is.

The diagonal layered ridgelines make for some great layers and the mist provides some wonderful atmosphere to this beautiful image, Navin. BTW the processing looks fantastic.

This one is definitely a lot better than the previous one! The mist is a real extra, so it is a good choice to incorporate it in your image. At first I thought it might need a bit of shadow detail, but then I looked at the larger version and there it is perfect.

Very moody image, Navin, I would try to dodge a few of those highlights in the lower part of the frame, other than that this looks great.

Much improved over the original version Navin. The fog looks just great and the angled ridges also. Really nice.
