An image from december last year. Since then there was no winter at all here. Right now we already have spring-like temps.
This is a nature reserve between the city of Bienne at the shores of Lake Bienne and Solothurn. It's just a small nature reserve but a good local spot for landcsape photography and for bird-watching.

The subtlety of your image conveys the specific atmosphere convincingly to me. Great work in my opinion.

I really like the mysterious feel to this shot, Bill. I think I would clone out the misc. dark spots int the fg, particularly the two larger ones in the bottom left.

Thus has a nice winter's day feel to it. I like the subdued tones and gentle light

Bill, This is wonderful. I really like the quiet mood and love the fine details. I always enjoy these type of scenes and this one is really good! I think I'm with Gary on cloning out the two darker spots along the bottom left. Beautiful work as usual from you, Bill. :toast:

This has to be seen large to be fully appreciated I think. I'm especially attracted to the grass but the reaching trees are wonderful too.

Beautifully moody and misty, Bill. I love the subtle hints of trees in the BG. +1 on recommendation to clone the ice to clean it up

I sure like this quiet look at winter. The frosty trees fading into the distance add some nice depth. I'm a firm believer in knowing and enjoying the local spots. Much as I try to limit cloning, some clean up of the sticks on the ice would improve this nicely.

The tones of this are absolutely gorgeous - the subtle shifts from the whites and greys to the browns really draw in the eye, as do the variations in definition. Beautifully composed with great mood. ( like Gary, I wonder about removing the two small black ?ice chunks - they do disturb the peacefulness of the scene, but that's a very minor issue with this lovely image )

Simple moody and very nice. Another vote for removing the small FG rocks. Wondering generally if a bit more of a pano crop would work as well…a little off the bottom and top…either way beautifully done!

The atmosphere in this winter scene is wonderful, Bill. The large version is a must to really enjoy all of the subtle details in the grasses and trees. I too would clone out or crop some of those dark spots along the bottom edge. Just a suggestion of course. Either way this is lovely.

A tranquil mood, and lovely light. Marvelous work, and I think the effect could be enhanced with the pano crop. :toast:

Nice imaging, Bill. Good to see a winter scene, we don't have any thing like that here in southern CA.

Thanks a lot for your feedbacks, comments and suggestions. As always I really appreciate. I was thinking about cloning out the dark spots/sticks at the bottom but then kept it as it was...but now I'm convinced to clone them out. A pano version would also be an option for me. Thanks again!

Really like the mood and detail in the large version Bill. The grasses and misty trees are just great. Agree with cloning fore ground rocks. Wonderful image. :toast:
