Bald Eagle

Rarely have I seen bald eagles in the wild. Was out looking for the snowy owls when I saw this huge eagle in a tree along the marshes at the mouth of the Housatonic River in Stratford, CT. The eagle came out better than the snowy pictures so I'll post him first.

Taken with Canon 7D with 100-400 lens at 400. F11, 1/1000 sec., ISO 800.

Comments always welcomed.

Lovely light and a nice job on the exposure, Patricia. Hard to tell about detail at this scale, but it looks good. The angle is a bit steep, but that's how they usually seem to perch.

Congrats on the eagle sighting and image Patricia. The detail and exposure look very good. I am seeing some noise in the bg you could run some nr on the bg. :toast:

A larger image would help in the critique. The angle is indeed steep, but I know from experience, that this is what you have to deal with when you photograph eagles. Nice look at the eye.

Very good color, detail, and exposure. I like how the branches frame the eagle.
