On the fence

I was amused by the antics of these starlings. A group of them landed on the fence near the bird feeder. After what appeared to be a short discussion, they all took off. I do wish I had picked up a highlight in the eye of the bird on the left.

Nice interaction between the two, nice highlights and details in the feathers. It is difficult to get two subjects both in focus and in equal lighting. I can see the eye placement even though the highlight isn't there. Well done.

Great shot, John. Wonderful color definition with the iridescence well shown. Lots of sharp detail. You got the comp and exposure just right. Amazing what one can find in one's own yard.

Excellent detail and beautiful bg. I love the interaction between the birds and the way you captured the iridescense on the feathers.

Awesome! I love this. It is difficult to capture multiple subjects at any time; it is far harder to capture such a wonderful interaction.

You are on a roll with this image, the dove and sparrow sheltering together for warmth, and the two doves facing away on this same fence.

You have a most productive fence, John. Excellent job catching the iridescent plumage of these two. Despite all the opportunities they present, I've never managed to get something decent on this species. This is nice, though I agree that a slight head turn on the left bird would have been the icing on the cake.

Nice job of seeing this interesting opportunity. Starlings have some wonderful iridescent color shine, way to go.
