Hi Chris,
Welcome to NPN, a fine first post in avian with great action and positions of the fighting birds. It would be stronger if it was sharper. If you list your equipment and techs (f-stop, iso, shutter speed etc) we will be able to give you more complete critiques. Looking forward to seeing more of your images.

Wonderful action, Chris. The birds look a bit soft, but without any shooting information it's difficult to say why. I like your POV.

Chris,
Thanks for posting this action packed shot. Great advice from Nate. While the feedback is not always easy to hear, many months later my photos have improved and the original comments were easy to see as informative and constructive. Looking forward to your next posts.

A lovely capture. I'm curious why you chose manual focus for an action shot? It might have cost you some sharpness...

Great action, just a bit soft. Why manual focus?

hi, one the question of manual focus, i guess that is all i seem to use, as i am mostly taking marco, insects etc i found the auto focus a bother to use as if i am looking to focus on a small insect it seemed to try and focus on other things in shot first and then i would of lost the shot
