A good effort, with a POF designed for minimal flower presentation and smooth bokeh and background. Expertly handled.

Nice choice of dof, Scott, and an excellent rendering of this flower. I think it might have even more effect if the flower were in the lower left corner. It looks like a ray gun but there's no space to shoot into (a lesson from my bird photography side-leave room for the bird to fly into).

Scott great color as usual. For me, a bit too much of it is OOF. I would like at least the stamen entirely sharp. BG is very effective.

I really like your use of the shallow dof in this to accent just what you want us to see. Very nice color as well.

I like the way that you isolated the stamen in this image. Lots of interesting detail there and the soft background helps it stand out.

Scott - It amazes me as to how many compositions are possible with this flower. I don't recall seeing this kind of composition any time before. Works for me. The focus on the frontal edges and the Stigma/Stamens carries the shot for me.

Nice use of DOF to isolate the stamen. And I like that the front edge of the petals is also in focus. Very nice!

Wow, that is definitely orange! I like your comp and the focus on the front edge and the fascinating anthers. I would like to see more of the stamen sharp. I think your comp. works well with just enough detail in the leaf on the left to let the position of the flower be effective.

Hi Scott Love your choice of DOF on the stigma and style. Artistically composed, with sublime color
