Barb - This is very well done. I like when these flowers are shot in good light - they really stand out. Focussing is just perfect.

I can connect the frame with the cut stem in the bottom right corner but if you wish, you can make the bit in the lower left corner go away.

Nice detail and contrast here. I also like the color contrast. One suggestion might be to move further away and use a longer focal length to get more blur in the background - of course this depends on your working distance as well. Nice work!!

Barb, my feelings on this one pretty much echo those I made on your previous Cosmos image. The flower is beautiful with good color, perfect exposure, and superb detail. The bg is just a bit busy for my personal preferences. In addition to what Brian suggested, you can try to find subjects/angles which allow greater distance between the subject and the bg. :wavey:

Sweet image, Barb. Excellent job handling the yellows and I like the pristine condition of the flower.

Perfect sharpness. Light & color extremely well handled. My taste might be to try either cropping or cloning both bottom corners.

The details and dof in the flower are terrific. We've got lots of these around, but I've haven't been able to find a specimen that looked this good. The background looks fine to me. My minor nit, is the bit of stem across the llc. I don't know what you're using for processing, but blurring that bit of stem to better match the background would remove a small distraction.

So simple a composition and so effective, Barb ! Beautifully photographed with its sharp centre and the yellows superbly controlled.

Barb: I agree with the others regarding the lower corners. Superb DOF control and a fine BG which works for me. Nicely done. >=))>
