Bob - That is some deep red color there - very striking and makes the frame so vibrant. It works well as presented for me with the Bud in focus also adding to the composition

I like the color contrast in this image. Your composition also provides a nice contrast between the bud and bloom as you mention.

Boy, that's some eye straining red! I like that the detail of the petals held up well against the "in your face" color. Good work!
