Magic Carpet

Taken out at Cannon Beach

I decided to keep the shutter speed high and wait for some leading lines to form in the waves. The high shutter speed also made it possible to hand hold the camera and quickly reposition when needed.

Any feedback is more than welcome!

Love the color on the water and in the sky Johan. I don't know if this was possible, but I might have moved more to the left to get the sun behind the sea stack in the center. It might have helped tame the super bright light from the sun. At least you had some great clouds and color. Every time I have tried to capture a sunset in the PNW, it was either crystal clear skies or heavy gray skies.

Yeah, I find the bright skies around the sun quite distracting, especially with the sun almost dead center in the composition. Were you able to capture a scene a bit later when the sun was lower?

Nice capture Johan. I like the colors in the sky and water and the lines in the water. Tone down central bright area a bit and you'll have a beauty. Nice image.

Great color, Johan. I too like like the reflected blues in the water. The central bright area could be toned down a little as already mentioned. One possibility may have been to stop down to try for more of a sunburst effect, but that would be harder handheld and with slower shutter speed maybe negate the lines you were going for in the water. Anyway, I really like what you have here already.
