Rock & Roll 2

The alternate title suggested by John on my last post was actually used on the original post from this location when I discovered it last year. This image is much the same as the original, only taken a bit later in the season so the water is a little clearer. Thanks for commenting on my last image and for stopping to have a look at this one.

Nancy,

I like this. I like being able to see through the water. The blue ripples in the water and warm tones in the rocks make a nice contrast. There's a couple of white things in the LRC that may be better cloned out, but it's difficult with only the small image to view.

Nancy Lea,

Oooh, I really like this one and prefer it over your previous, mostly because of the brightness of the rock. But I see the same rock here and the light is wonderful throughout. I'm really liking the design as well; the ripples, the long "waves" and the colors ranging from warm to cool all come together beautifully. Awesome work. No nits or suggestions here.

The ripples have created some very interesting lines in this one. I agree about the bright flecks in the lrc, but they don't pull much. I would be interested to see what a very shallow dof focused on just the ripples might create with this flow. A very pretty abstract as is.

The arcs of light and extending lines of light are just wonderful Nancy Lea. You capture some amazing water flow abstracts for sure.

Very cool stuff here, Nancy. The graceful curve of the ripples in the water work very nicely with the warm tones in this abstract scene. Great eye to spot this.

I almost think of this as two images, the bright surface ripples and the bright underlying rocks. I find them competing a bit for my attention. Great shapes and lines on the surface, but I might prefer a darkened background to showcase them.

This is special. I like the clarity of the water and the view of the colored rocks below, but it's the bluish arcs of the ripples and flow lines that make this special by creating a strong sense of movement and making sure that the viewer knows the they're looking through a clear stream. I like those little flecks in the lrc because they help tell the story of how much the water is moving. Would love to see a larger version.
