Cherry Surprise
by Mark Seaver
After a day of on and off rain, I thought I might be able to get a good picture for this week's challenge. Then about an hour before sunset, the sky cleared and the sun started to shine as I was working on the scene in this drop hanging from a bush cherry. These bushes are native to the upper mid-west, but I've planted them here in MD because they make great sour cherry pancake syrup (or jelly). This year, we've got Bluebirds nesting and they seem to like the cherries, so I won't get any syrup but I'm happy with the trade. I didn't see all of the sunburst action in the view finder, so I was surprised when I saw the result. (5D3, 100mm macro L + 36mm ET, 1/25s, f/18, iso 800, tripod and cable release)
