Nestbuilding Grackle
by Roger Kirchen
Photo of a Common Grackle (Quiscalus quiscula) from the archives. They are quite common here, though more so last year than this year. Yet, I still like to shoot them. Their colors truly become flamboyant when the light is right. This one here shows more subdued colors matched to the BG.
Canon 7D, Sigma 150-500 at 500 mm, f/10, ISO 500, 1/200 sec, HH, natural light, PP in LR5, CS6 and NIK. Cropped from landscape to portrait. Grafted canvas from another shot onto the bottom to place bird higher into the frame.
I'm still working on finding the best sharpening and NR workflow.
All comments are much appreciated. Thanks for looking and thanks for all your comments on my other photos. Roger.
