Canon 1D-X, 300mm x 2.0 TC, handheld
f6.3, 1/640, ISO2000

Another shot from the Marine Aviary at Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, Alaska. The behavior is called sky-pointing and it is a dominance behavior towards other males in the area.

Full frame. Slight adjustment to levels. Slight sharpening.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Nice behavioral shot, well exposed! I wish the whole bird would be in the frame, but other than that great ! Cheers, Hans

Nice behavior shot. I love the colors. The cut off tail is unfortunate. I wonder if a vertical portrait crop would work here. Roger.

Nice composition and exposure, Jim. Ideally, I'd like just enough more dof to bring the entire beak on the main subject into crisp focus, but you were really fighting low light there.

The detail is great and the colors are handled very well. To get this nice of detail in both black and white is not easy. I guess if I had a nit I would be for a little room on the right.

Really like the behavior here, Jim, and good detail in the head. Guess I have been away too long.......when did you switch to Canon? Very nice job.
