Hooded Robins inhabit drier woodlands and heaths across most of Australia but tend to avoid coastal areas. This is the male.

Not as colourful as some of your recent posts Rob but a wonderful shot none the less. Nice handling of the black and white against a great golden background.
I'm curious. You state that you overexposed by +1/3. I find with birds that have a lot of white I need to under expose by at least that much, usually more. Was to to retain detail in the black?

Beautiful image. The diagonal perch, angle of the bird, and where it is looking all create a nice flow. Great background as well. Wouldn't change a thing.

Excellent job on what looks like a difficult exposure, Rob. Is there any consistency to what's called a Robin in Australia? This one looks like a flycatcher.

Neat little bird, Rob. He really stands out from the bg, and I love the interesting colors in the upper part of the perch.
